Mediating Complex Issues:
| Part 1: Mediating Spousal Support: Rising to the Challenge: The presenters provided participants with a checklist of ideas to utilize in the mediation of spousal support. They also provided a basic overview of spousal support principles and focused on the challenges of mediation this issue through discussion and case illustrations.
Presenters: Shannon Breckman, L.L.B. Part 2: Power Imbalance:The presenters discussed how power imbalances between participants can manifest themselves in the mediation process. They also looked at strategies in dealing with power imbalances and ways of helping to create balance between mediating parties Presenters: Rick Schmidt,B.S.A, M.A., Mediator/Facilitator Part 3: Mobility: The program explored the issue of mobility in the context of current family law, as well as the challenges facing mediators in helping parents discuss the issue.
